We hoped for glorious sunshine and no wind… we got pretty much no wind. Despite the rain and drizzle, two races of about 15 riders, and another group of 4 took to the line on Saturday for the first of the club open days at Eyreton Hall. In the A/B grade, a break of 3 riders went clear (Ollie Jones, Richard Lawson and Greg Manson) towards the end of the first lap. That break was dangerous enough for the main pack to give chase and soon it would be all back together. Back in the C grade, it was all together going round the first and second laps… In the final race to start, the 4 riders in the D/E/F Grades ground it out through the bad weather and at the end of lap one, one rider was already off on a banzai attack. Back in the A/B grade, attacks must have started flying, and second time around, a break of about 6 riders had made it away from the main bunch, which included Ollie Jones and Michael Vink.
